Vassar College – Science Building Poughkeepsie, NY

The LRC Group was retained to participate in the design and construction of the new state-of-the-art Science Center for Vassar College. The requirements of the expansion necessitated the construction of a new building and a revised campus landscape with pedestrian pathways that will redefine the functionality of the science departments on campus.

The design is an outgrowth of meetings with Campus Departments and the design team to integrate a state of the art science building into the existing campus landscape. The project involved renovation of two existing buildings, demolition of one building and the addition of the new Science Building spanning the creek on campus. Along with the new building a complete redesigned landscape and pedestrian access ways. The campus utilities were upgraded as part of the project as well as designing a integrated stormwater management plan with the landscape.
